Muztagh Ata Glacier Park lies at the foot of Muztagh Ata, a 7,546-meter peak on the Pamir Plateau in Xinjiang known as the "Father of Ice Mountains." Set at over 4,000 meters above sea level, the park brings visitors face to face with one of the mountain's great glaciers, where towering walls of blue-white ice spill down from the snow-covered summit. A shuttle bus takes you into the park, followed by a walk of about one kilometer to the glacier viewpoint. On a clear day, the sweeping view of the peak and its ice fields is one of the most memorable sights along the Karakoram Highway.
