Hotan Tuancheng is a historic residential quarter in the heart of Hotan, in southern Xinjiang, named "Round City" for the way its lanes radiate outward from a central point. The neighborhood showcases traditional Uyghur architecture, including Aywan-style courtyard homes, intricately carved wooden doors and balconies, and brightly painted facades. Restored in recent years, it remains a living community where local families still reside alongside teahouses, craft workshops, and small shops selling jade, carpets, and Atlas silk. A stroll through its winding alleys offers a glimpse of everyday life in this ancient Silk Road oasis.
