Tucked away on the shores of Lugu Lake, Dazu Village is the only Naxi village on the lake. Every mountain, every ravine, and every old path here has its own name and story in the Dongba language. Visitors may also have the chance to step into a local family's "grandmother's house" — the heart of the traditional home — to learn about Naxi culture and how it is passed down through generations. Dazu Welfare Primary School has its roots here, quietly upholding its mission of charitable education for 20 years. It is a school without walls: a primary school with a 160-mu (about 26-acre) farm — or, just as truly, a farm with a primary school. The kids will be so happy to see you :)
