Luosi Field
Luoping's Snail Shell Terraces (Luosi Tian) sit in a natural karst hollow in eastern Yunnan, where generations of farmers have carved the slopes into concentric rings that spiral down like the whorls of a snail's shell. The terraces are most magical in late winter and early spring, when the rapeseed blooms and the entire basin turns into swirling ripples of gold. Climb to the viewing platform on the rim at sunrise and the light pools in the curves of the fields, making it one of the most photographed landscapes in all of Yunnan.
