Shangri-La Heights

Yunnan, in China's far southwest, is a land of extraordinary diversity — snow-capped peaks, serene lakes, ancient towns, and the legendary Shangri-La. Starting with a flight from Shanghai to Lijiang, you'll explore its ancient town, meet the matrilineal Mosuo at Lugu Lake, then drive north into Shangri-La to visit Songzanlin Monastery and the sacred valley of Balagzong. From there, catch the iconic golden sunrise over Meili Snow Mountain at Feilai Temple, before looping south to Dali's Cangshan Mountain and Erhai Lake and flying home from Lijiang. From snow peaks to lakeside towns, it's a journey that climbs into the roof of Yunnan and back — unforgettable at every turn.

Aren’t the roads spectacular? We had a wow factor around every corner. The twists and turns had us gasping in awe at the beauty.
The cameras don’t really do it justice. You’re going to have to come and see for yourself… We kept taking in the views and honestly pinched ourselves that we were there.
